  The attrition plan SBC has been talking about includes catching you "misusing" company issued computers. People are loosing jobs each month due to this. Here are some things to avoid while using your company issued computer.


  1. Never treat the PC issued you by SBC as "your computer".

  2. Never do a general search on yahoo, google ect.

  3. Never check your bank account.

  4. Never use a chat program like messenger.

  5. Never ever give out your company issued email address to a friend.

  6. Never send personal email of any type.

  7. Never stream video or audio unless it is from the company.

  8. Never install any software from any outside source.

  9. Never hook your personal computer up to the company network.

  10. Never visit any internet website that is not directly connected to the pursuit of information directly related to your job. This includes Union related websites like this from a company computer.

  11. Never think they won't catch you. They may need to go down 1 on your workgroup and this could make you it.

  We all are in a position where we must justify our employment to the company. So are the asset protection people. They are paid to get people fired when the company needs it. That is how they justify thier job.
